Garry Lowell Clampitt, 77, of Chillicothe. passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home under the care of his family and St. Luke’s Hospice. Garry was born March 15, 1938 in Omaha, Neb., the son of Russell Lowell Clampitt and Doris Beth Kobbe Clampitt. He was a graduate of Breckenridge High School. He first married Carol Joyce Hall. She preceded him in death in 1983. He then married Jackie Marie Cadell Lutz in 1996, she proceeded him in death in 2006. Garry worked for Farmers Electric Coop for 39 years as a lineman. He attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Chillicothe. Garry enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching the grandkids play sports and he was a professional wood carver. The most special time in his life was when he could spend time with the children and grandchildren. Garry is survived by four sons, Kirk Lowell Clampitt, Todd Lane Clampitt, Christopher Lyle Clampitt (Janine) and Cory Lynn Clampitt (Kristy), seven grandchildren, Chadwick Clampitt, Jenifer Wallace, Gage Clampitt, Jessica and Caleb Clampitt, Tyler and Whitney Clampitt; two step daughters, Bobbi Mattox (Ron), and Jodi Murrell (Jim); a step granddaughter Holli Burr (Ethan). He was preceded in death by his parents and both of his wives. Memorials in honor of Garry Clampitt may be made to The City Of Chillicothe (write wood carving for Simpson Park in the memo section of your check) and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe Mo. 64601. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Life Point Church in Chillicothe. A Memorial Service at Life Point Church will immediately follow at 8 p.m.. Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe Mo.
