Basketball Hornets Survive Rough-and-Tumble District Opener, 59-48

Having stolen the ball on the defensive end of the court, Chillicothe High School basketball Hornets junior Langston Johnson wins the race to the basket at the other end for a mid-second-period layup during this past Tuesday’s Class 4 District 16 Tournament home win over Cameron. If the Hornets won again last night over Maryville, they’ll play for the district title and advancement to the state tournament for the first time since 2005 tomorrow night at 6 o’clock at Lafayette High School in St. Joseph.
