CHILLICOTHE – Bishop Hogan Memorial School has received the OK to take on one of the biggest construction projects for the school in the past 70 years. With approval from the Diocesan Building Commission, this project has been a dream in the works for the past two years. The construction will include a renovation of part of the current property, but the major construction would be a building that would encompass 8,000 square feet of space and serve several needs for the school. Plans are for one large building will pull together the current two buildings.
Established in 1957, Bishop Hogan Memorial School is due for an update of the entire existing building. Classes, school functions, and many church and community events are held within the halls of the school building.
The ultimate goal is to create a southern entrance to the building along with a parking lot. This will be helpful for parent and student pick-up and drop-off times. In addition, there would be more modernized classrooms and office space. In the middle of it all would be a 3,600 square foot parish hall. Further detailed blueprints and details will be released to the public as the project starts gaining momentum and plans are underway.
