Second-year head coach Dean Opoka gives a final word of instruction to junior Eyezick Dowell (4) as the Breckenridge High School Bulldogs head back onto the court following a stoppage in play during a home game earlier this season. The Bulldogs delivered a strong, roster-wide effort Jan. 2 at Keytesville to achieve the program’s first victory over an opposing varsity-level team somewhere other than the BHS court, winning 67-52 at Keytesville. Led by a team-high 21 points, as well as seven steals, five rebounds, and two assists, from freshman Caleb Maddux (30), four Bulldogs scored in double figures and Dante Harris (22) posted a near-triple-double (17 points, 12 rebounds, eight steals, six assists).
