On Friday, the Missouri Department of Public Safety presented Sworn Team Member of the Month Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Timmy Shoop, of Troop B, with his award for the recognition as September Sworn Team Member of the Month. Sgt. Shoop responded to the June Amtrak crash in Chariton County and safely evacuated passengers in overturned rail cars, tended to a severely injured man and worked for days on the investigation.
