Local Chiefs fan celebrates

Isaac Hand, 19, joined the countless other Missourians and Americans celebrating the Chiefs 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on February 12 during Super Bowl LVII in Glendale Arizona. Hand who is described as a “die hard Chiefs fan” photo was submitted to the Constitution-Tribune’s request for photos through our Facebook page.

A concert featuring singer, songwriter, and storyteller Daryl Mosley will be held on Sunday, February 19 at 10:30 a.m., at Freedom Baptist Church, 26815 Highway 36, Brookfield,. From countless appearances on “The Grand Ole Opry” to classic shows at the famous Bluebird Cafe to a touring schedule of over 150 concerts per year, singer/songwriter Daryl Mosley has been sharing his songs and his stories with America for over 30 years.

Edwin Hubble, Astronomer

Edwin Hubble expertly adjusted the instruments, bringing the view into perfect clarity. The Hooker Telescope let Edwin see galaxies where the naked eye just saw stars. It was the world’s largest telescope, housed at the Mount Wilson Observatory in California, where Edwin worked. He’d been with the observatory since 1919. It felt like home to him and became the birthplace of his greatest work and discoveries.

As the world welcomes in the new year with celebrations as well as traditions–for instance, creating resolutions, throwing parties, and eating specific foods, some have certain ways of preparing themselves for what the year might bring. The celebration of New Year is one of the oldest and most well-known festivals recognized around the world today, dating back as far as 2000 BCE. Although celebrated in many different ways the holiday originated in one way as Lunar New Year.

North Missouri Round Table event

DAR Essay Winners

Three Bishop Hogan Memorial School students are winners of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) American History Essay contest. 6th grader A.J. Warren, 7th grader Nick Radcliff, and 8th grader Kierra Williams had the winning essays for the Olive Prindell Chapter of DAR. Their entries will advance to state competition.
