Author’s note: In September 1981, the Chillicothe Constitution- Tribune printed a three- part series about Dr. George and Erika Mandler, then 30- year residents of Chillicothe. The Mandlers had immigrated to the United States from war- torn Czechoslovakia. Prior to the C- T publication, only close friends knew much about the Mandlers’ life before moving to Chillicothe.
