The Missouri Conservation Commission and Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) are seeking nominations of Missourians who make or have made outstanding contributions to conservation in Missouri for their Master Conservationist award and Missouri Conservation Hall of Fame award. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 31.

For the second year in a row, North Central Missouri College (NCMC) has seen a significant enrollment increase in both headcount and credit hours. For the fall 2022 census, NCMC is up 7.7% in headcount and 7% in credit hours. Headcount is up in full-time and part-time students as well as first-time freshmen. The most significant areas of increase include transfer-in students at 58.3% and out-of-state students at 39.4%.
The Missouri Municipal League (MML) elected city of Chillicothe Council Member Reed Dupy to the MML Board of Directors at the organization’s annual conference last week. A native of Chillicothe, Dupy has served on the Chillicothe City Council since 2011.
The 27th annual EAA Chapter 944 Fly-in/ Drive-in Breakfast will be held from 7-10:30 a.m. and Young Eagle Flights for youth aged 8-17 will be held 8 a.m.-noon, weather dependent on Oct. 1, at Chillicothe Municipal Airport.

“Top Gun Homecoming: Above the Clouds” featuring a salute to our nation’s military and veterans was held last week at Chillicothe High School. The week ended with the parade Friday afternoon followed by football versus the Cameton Dragons and queen and king coronation, where Hope Helton and Max Wagers were named queen and king.
