June 2022 Monthly Jobs Report

Missouri non-farm payroll employment increased by 5,300 jobs from May 2022 to June 2022, and the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased by threetenths of a percentage point. Private industry employment increased by 2,000 jobs and government employment increased by 3,300 jobs. The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.8% in June 2022, down from 3.1% in May 2022. Over the year, there was an increase of 65,500 jobs from June 2021 to June 2022, and the unemployment rate decreased by 1.6 percentage points, from 4.4% in June 2021 to 2.8% in June 2022.

37th Annual Chautauqua in the Park

The 37th Annual Chautauqua in the Park will be held Sept. 10-11, at Simpson Park in Chillicothe. This annual event, sponsored by the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce and the Chillicothe Area Arts Council, and presented by Hedrick Medical Center, has a wide variety of entertainment, activities, artists, crafts and food.

Volunteers Form Grand River Heart Restart to Protect Community Members, Have a “Lasting Impact”

Grand River Heart Restart (GRHR) was formed in 2016 by a group of area healthcare professionals with a mission to reduce the number of cases of fatal sudden cardiac arrest. GRHR helps the Chillicothe community by teaching awareness, offering training and the strategic placement of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in the community. Members of GRHR are from Hedrick Medical Center and Chillicothe Fire Department. With the support of fundraisers, GRHR has made it a goal to place at least one AED in our community each year.
