Roadway Deaths Down Slightly for the First Half of 2022

Following an especially deadly 2021, Missouri traffic fatalities have dropped 7% compared to this same time last year. Preliminary data shows from Jan. 1 - June 22, 413 people were killed in Missouri traffic crashes, down from 445 in the same period in 2021. The July Fourth holiday weekend marks the halfway mark of summer and the halfway point of the 100 deadliest days of summer, which has historically seen the highest number of traffic fatalities.

Local Students Graduate, Receive Collegiate Honors

Crawford Earns Degree at Wichita State University More than 1,870 students completed a total of 2,075 degrees at Wichita State University spring 2022, including Emily E Crawford,of Carrollton, who received a Bachelor of Arts in Education, ECU/Elementary Educ Apprentice, Cum Laude. The breakdown of degrees and certificates granted includes: * Undergraduate: 1,474 degrees and certificates for 1,347 undergraduate students * Graduate: 601 degrees and certificates for 526 graduate students For bachelor’s degrees, honors were conferred to the following: * Summa cum laude: 100 students * Magna cum laude: 411 students * Cum laude: 357 students Undergraduate students who have attained a grade point average of 3.9 out of a possible 4.0 received the summa cum laude award; those with an average of 3.55 received the magna cum laude award; and those with an average of 3.25 received the cum laude.
