For the month of May 2022, Governor Mike Parson granted 18 pardons pursuant to Article IV, Section 7 of the Constitution of the State of Missouri. Official documents have been filed with the appropriate government agencies and have been sent to the individuals. Families have been or are in the process of being notified.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Twelve hours before Early Voting won the Preakness, Kentucky Derby champion Rich Strike was back on the track at Churchill Downs to begin preparations for the Belmont Stakes. After impressing with a strong workout, Rich Strike remains on track for the third leg of the Triple Crown.
The Chillicothe City Council met on Tuesday, May 31 in regularly scheduled meeting in which they discussed a reappointment to the Airport Board, watering of the flowers downtown, and the gifting and development of Strand Hotel property.
The Constitution-Tribune will have a new office located in downtown Chillicothe at 516 Washington Street, starting Monday. In October the Constitution-Tribune was purchased by Cherry Road Media at the same time the growing media company also purchased the Linn County Leader in Brookfield and Boonville Daily News.
SALAD LUNCHEON JUNE 9 The St. Ann’s Altar Society Salad Luncheon will be held 11 a.m.,-1 p.m., June 9 at Bishop Hogan Memorial School.
The True Blue Club met Thursday, May 19, in the home of Dorothy Crookshanks with Cheryl Maggart as assistant hostess. Devotion was several items about mothers. Roll call was “my most memorable time with my mother.” Hostess gift and game prizes were won by Janet Meek. A card was sent to Connie Sallee. Next meeting will be lunch at a Chillicothe restaurant on June 16.

During closed session of the May 17 Chillicothe R-II Board of Education meeting the board unanimously approved the following staff changes. Hiring: Matthew Trussell, middle school math; Jennifer Anderson, third grade teacher; Cyrsten Sarbaugh, ag ed instructor; and Anthony Fairchild-middle school at-risk.
The Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra (GRVCO) will present its annual Summer Concert, “We Remember,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 18, in the Trenton R-IX Performing Arts Center. The program will be dedicated to Buddy Hannaford. A variety of music will be performed. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., following the dress rehearsal.
