University of Missouri Extension offers Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

In response to our nation’s mental health crisis, University of Missouri Extension will bring a Youth Mental Health First Aid training to Chillicothe on June 9. This groundbreaking skills-based course gives people the tools to identify, understand and respond to adolescents ages 12-18 who might be struggling with a mental health or substance use challenge — and connect them with appropriate support and resources when necessary.

Spring Wine Walk a success

Main Street Chillicothe’s Spring Wine Walk is held downtown Chillicothe on Friday, May 13, was a success. Participants sipped a variety of Missouri wines in their wine glasses compliments of Ashley Gabrielson and the United Country Real Estate, Graham Agency, LLC.

Burnside Cemetery meeting this Saturday

President Willa Vee George announces that the Burnside Cemetery Association will be meeting for its annual spring association meeting, this Saturday, May 21. The day will begin with work at the cemetery starting at 8 a.m. The project for the day will be stone cleaning in preparation for Memorial Day. Members and other volunteers who will be helping in this effort should bring appropriate brushes (not wire brushes!), and any other items or equipment for this task. There will be a sprayer and water on hand for those engaged in cleaning stones to use.
