The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Missouri encourages landowners in Northwest Missouri to apply for funding through the Program Restoring and Improving Monarch Ecosystems (PRIME) by May 20, 2022.

A water rate increase will go into effect for the May 1, 2022 utility bills, according to a press release from Board President Jerry Norman. In a release on social media, Norman said, the new rate will reflect a $5 increase per 1000 gallons.

The following Grand River Technical School (GRTS) SKills USA State Champions will be going to Atlanta June 19th-25th to represent Missouri and GRTS. CPS Industrial Engineering 1st place Gold: ZAne Daley, Dereck Dush and Heidi Gault.
Sexual harassment – of both men and women – can be a serious issue in agriculturals settings, especially in large scale farming operations. In Washington State, where large scale operations are common, a groundswell of concern about identifying sexual harassment, giving victims resources for resolving the behavior, and providing training tools for employers so they can recognize and confront sexual harassment in their workplace led to development of that state’s “!BASTA! Prevent Sexual Harassment in Agriculture.” More than 60 agribusinesses and multiple governmental agencies supported and contributed to development of the training manual.
There’s still time to apply to the Missouri Century Farm Program. Deadline is May 1.
Grand River Technical School’s (GRTS) SkillsUSA chapter spent the past week at Linn State Technical College of Missouri and competed against students from across the state. GRTS competitors had amazing success bringing home 37 Gold, Silver and Bronze State medals. Grand River Technical School has 18 Missouri State Champions with 12 State Champions headed to SkillsUSA National Competitions this summer in Atlanta, Georgia. In SkillsUSA only the 1st place Gold Medalist, in handson competitions, advance to Nationals.
SPRING CLEAN-UP CMU has released the dates for the Citywide Clean-up. Remaining dates include April 20 and 23, from 8 a.m., to 12 p.m., and 1 to 4 p.m.
