AAA: Missouri gas price average climbs as crude oil prices and demand for fuel increase

The statewide gas price average in Missouri is $3.16 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel, according to the AAA Missouri Weekend Gas Watch. That price is five cents more compared to this day last week and is 94 cents more per gallon compared to this day last year. Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Missouri, drivers in St. Louis are paying the most on average at $3.20 while drivers in St. Joseph are paying the least at $3.09 per gallon. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.48, which is six cents more compared to this day last week and $1.00 more than the price per gallon at this same time last year, according to AAA Gas Prices.

Sheriff: Scammers will try anything

On Monday, Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox issued a statement concerning a new approach from scammers and he cautioned area residents not to share financial information with unknown sources. The statement reads: “Lately we have received reports that scammers have twisted their approach to citizens in attempt to steal their money.

City board openings

The City of Chillicothe has openings on the railroad and airport advisory boards. The Railroad Board meets on the third Tuesday in February, May, August and November Airport Board meets the second Tuesday in February, April, June, August, October and December Any interested parties can pick up a board volunteer form at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 715 Washington St., or on the city’s website www.chillicothecity.org.

Citizens Bank & Trust donates over $115,000 to Chillicothe R-II School District

The Chillicothe R-II School District is one of the many school districts in the communities served by Citizens Bank & Trust to implement the school mascot debit card program. In addition to choosing a custom debit card design that displays the Hornet mascot, each use of the card gives back to the school district. Due to overwhelming community response, the school mascot debit card program has provided $117,044.95 to the school district since its implementation in 2010.
