Public Works Approves Use of “Hot Sockets”

The Chillicothe Board of Public Works has approved a new procedure to address potential issues with electric meter bases, commonly known as “hot sockets.” General Manager Matt Hopper explained that customers will soon receive a letter outlining the process to follow if their meter detects a problem with the meter base—the component where the electric meter connects to a home or business.
