NCMC receives continued Accreditation

North Central Missouri College (NCMC) recently, received notice that the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) has continued full accreditation with reaffirmation scheduled for 2031-2032. College employees spent several years preparing materials to document that NCMC meets the standards for regional accreditation through HLC, and the college hosted an evaluation team visit in the fall.

Computer basics community education course available through NCMC

A new community education course at North Central Missouri College (NCMC) is now enrolling participants for Computer Basics for the Mature Learner. This non-credit course is open to members of the public, and enrollees do not need to be NCMC students. Computer Basics for the Mature Learner will be on Mondays from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 28, March 7, March 14 and March 21 on the NCMC Main Campus in Hoffman Hall 101 in Trenton.

Commission Communications: Broadband in Livingston County

At one of our statewide commissioners meetings a speaker discussed county commissions preparing county wide broadband plans. After hearing this presentation and pondering it for a while I decided that the best way to approach a county wide plan was to ask an expert for help. Accordingly, I called David Adams who is the General Manager of Green Hills Telephone Corporation and asked Adams, who is an expert on broadband if he would prepare a county wide plan that we can use. As I expected, Green Hills already had a great deal of this formulated and David agreed to meet with our commission to review the broadband plan with us, which he did in late January.
