Major winter weather is forecast for much of the state beginning overnight Tuesday and continuing through the end of the week. The Missouri Department of Transportation urges people to stay off the roads if at all possible during the periods of ice and snow. If you must travel this week, use extra caution, anticipate slower travel times and consult the Traveler Information Map for road conditions.

Local students named to Mizzou fall 2021 dean’s list More than 11,480 University of Missouri students earned the academic distinction of being placed on the fall 2021 Dean’s List. Trees are still in winter’s grip in February, but it takes just a few warm days during the month to make tree sap flow in anticipation of spring. That sap can be collected and turned into sweet syrup, especially maple syrup. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free virtual maple sugaring program from rom 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15.

The deadline is quickly approaching for Missouri agriculture students interested in applying for the 2022 Missouri Corn Scholarship Program. High school and college students pursuing a career in agronomy or other agriculture-related field must submit the necessary forms no later than Feb.
