Chillicothe Hall of Fame 2024 Inductee Announced

The Livingston County Preservation Society announces the Chillicothe Hall of Fame inductee for 2024. The public is invited each year to nominate an outstanding pioneer who greatly contributed to Chillicothe, passed at least 35 years ago, and lived here for at least five years. Past recipients include Charles F. Adams, Olive Rambo Cook, Frank Bench, Maurice Dorney, R. Warren Roberts and Claude T. Smith. The inductee selected for 2024 out of several outstanding candidates was Jerry Litton. The sponsor for this year’s inductee is Jim Summerville and his children, Jerry’s nieces and nephews, Laura Lee Summerville Gayfield, Ginger R. Summerville, and James Eric Summerville. An unveiling ceremony will be held in early May.

Chillicothe Announces Christmas Tree Disposal and Recycling Options

The Chillicothe Street Department has scheduled curbside pickup for live Christmas trees on Monday, Jan. 13, and Monday, Jan. 27. Residents should place their trees at the curb, ensuring they are not in the street. All decorations, including tinsel, garland, lights, ornaments, and stands, must be removed. Artificial trees will not be accepted.
