Open Enrollment assistance

The annual open enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act has been extended through Jan. 15. The extension will allow consumers more time to review their plan choices, seek in-person assistance and enroll in the plan that best meets their needs.

Elks Auxiliary donate to Bright Futures Chillicothe

The Chillicothe Elk’s Women’s Auxiliary and Sherry Weldon recently donated to the CMS Cares Closet. The Auxiliary donated $300 dollars to the project and Weldon donated bags of needed hygiene items. The Cares Closet is a project of Bright Futures Chillicothe. The Chillicothe High School needs donations of hygiene items for its CHS Cares Closet. Items that are an immediate need are feminine hygiene items, tooth brushes, and tooth paste. If you are interested in donating please contact Mrs. Tipton or Mrs. Marsh at 660-646-0700

Patrol Addresses Cold Weather Water Safety

Winter temperatures have arrived and that means the water temperature of Missouri’s lakes and rivers is becoming colder. In some areas of the state, ice has begun to form on smaller bodies of water. If you have plans to be near or on one of the state’s lakes or rivers, or a private pond — the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) asks that you — be careful and stay alert.
