The Farmers’ Electric Cooperative (FEC) Board of Directors have chosen former FEC General Manager, Mike Sanders, to serve as the Interim General Manager, effective March 27, 2023. Mike will take on the responsibilities of the General Manager (GM) until a permanent GM is appointed.
Winners of the 60th annual Farmers’ Electric Cooperative essay contest have been announced. Two juniors won all-expense paid trips to Washington, D.C. Three sophomores, including two Chillicothe High School students, won all-expense paid trips to the Cooperative Youth Conference & Leadership Experience (C.Y.C.L.E.) program in Jefferson City.

Disney’s Frozen opens at Chillicothe High School in just a few days. In their eighth week of rehearsals, the cast and crew of nearly 70 are making final touches to their performance and the set while practicing with the orchestra directed by Sarah Cavanah. CHS won a national competition to be the only school in Missouri to be able to produce Frozen.
On March 16, 2023 Chapter T P.E.O. held its regular business meeting at Joyful Seasons. The program was presented by Sophie Chambers who is a gifted and talented teacher and instructional coach for the Chillicothe RII School District. In 2015 Sophie received a Program for Continuing Education grant through Chapter T. During her program Thursday evening Sophie shared how this grant helped her return to school to get her specialist in Gifted and Talented Education.
On March 10 the Board of Public Works met and then into an executive session by motion of Charles Washburn. By recommendation of the board members Kelly Barrick has been chosen to fill the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
