Pastor’s Pen: Thinking Thankful

Paul exhorts us in his letter to the Thesthe salonians, “give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” The only word most of us have trouble with is “everything!” So, it should cause us to think differently. It should cause us to think thankfully. The first question I can ask is “in this situation, what is it that I am thankful for?”

Artemisia Gentileschi’s 1616 nude to be digitally unveiled

FLORENCE, Italy (AP) — Art restorers in Italian city of Florence have begun a sixmonth project to clean and virtually “unveil” a long-censored nude painting by Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the most prominent women in the history of Italian art. Swirling veils and drapery were added to the “Allegory of Inclination” some 70 years after Gentileschi painted the life-size female nude, believed to be a self-portrait, in 1616.

The True Blue Club met Nov. 10 at a Chillicothe restaurant for their last meeting of the year. Secret Sisters were revealed for 2022, and new names were drawn for 2023. Cards were sent to Danny McIntyre, Garry Palmer, and David Long. All members were present: Dorothy Crookshanks, Janet Meek, Eudora Fitzpatrick, and Cheryl Maggart to enjoy the meal and gifts exchanged.
