Oasis Tutoring to Celebrate Years of Service with Luncheon Honoring Local Volunteers

Since its quiet launch in the middle of a pandemic, Oasis Tutoring in Livingston County has grown from a small group of determined volunteers into a thriving, county-wide initiative that’s changing lives— both for students and for the older adults who mentor them. This spring, the organization will host a luncheon to honor the dedicated individuals who helped get the program off the ground and continue to power its mission forward.

Ex-Lady Hornet Bonderer Had Solid Debut at UCM

Prior to former Chillicothe High School girls’ basketball stars Jessica Reeter and Kayanna Cranmer wrapping up their 2024-25 seasons with North Central Missouri College of Trenton in the National Junior College Athletics Association Division 2 National Tournament at Joplin, their former Lady Hornets teammate and ’23-’24 All-State star Jolie Bonderer had her freshman season with the University of Central Missouri conclude March 6 in a Jennies loss to Fort Hays State in the second round of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Tournament at Kansas City.

Chula Receives GRM Community Project Grant

CHULA - GRM Networks is continuing its commitment to local progress by awarding $3,750 in Community Improvement Grants during the second round of its 2024 semiannual distribution. Grants were awarded to three organizations working to make a difference across Missouri including the Village of Blythedale, the Chula Park Committee, and the Cainsville Community Betterment program.

Missouri State Fair Seeks Local Military Heroes to Honor This Summer

Got a hero in your life? The Missouri State Fair wants to shine a spotlight on them. The Fair is now accepting nominations for its Veteran/Active Military Honoree of the Day program, where 11 outstanding service members—past or present—will be recognized during the daily Military Flag Retreat Ceremony held right outside the Historic Administration Building on the fairgrounds.
