Developing Depth Behind Standout Corbin CHS Tennis’ Task

As their 2022 season gets ready to begin this coming week, the Chillicothe High School tennis Hornets clearly have a cornerstone sitting on bedrock. Whether other building materials left over from a 4-12 season in 2021 will solidify into a sturdy-enough foundation to erect a return to a winning season is the primary question facing returning head coach Bob Long and his 15-players squad this spring.

First competitions of 2022 CHS spring sports this season near Baseball, girls’ soccer due to debut Friday, others next week

With another, hopefully-longer-lasting, spate of milder weather occurring this week, final practice preparations for the 2022 Chillicothe High School spring sports seasons are unfolding prior to the start of competitions either late this week or next.

Well-Stocked Soccer Lady Hornets Eye Big 2022

Returning a large veteran core – including two All-State honorees – from a 2021 squad which shattered numerous team and individual program records and ended a very strong season with a 1-goal loss in the district-tournament championship game, the soon-to-debut Chillicothe High School soccer Lady Hornets could be poised to follow the example of the Hornets counterparts (state quarterfinalists) and have their greatest success yet.

Thanks to lockout, new pact, Royals, Cardinals will open at home

The unfortunate dispute between Major League Baseball and the players’ association which delayed the start of spring training and the regular season did create a fluky and unprecedented scheduling scenario for the Kansas City Royals and, contrary to the original schedule, allows both of Missouri’s big league teams to play their season openers at home.

Sportsman’s Alliance Events Coming Soon

The North Missouri Sportsman’s Alliance has announced three events it has scheduled to be held in April and June – an antler measuring on Saturday, April 9, a fund-raising poker tournament in the evening of that same day, and a kids’ fishing derby on Saturday, June 4. The antler measuring and kids’ fishing derby have been held annually in the past, but the COVID-19 pandemic prevented their being held last year.
