No. 2 Seeds Linn County, Northwestern are No. 1 in Cage District LCHS Lady Mustangs, Mendon-based boys opened prep state play Tuesday

MEADVILLE — The Linn County High School basketball Lady Mustangs punctuated the “upset the apple cart” plot line of the Class 1 District 12 tournament last Thursday as two No. 2 seeds walked away with the top prizes – district crowns and a chance to play last night in the state tournament.

Swan Lake to Reopen March 5

The area’s Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge will reopen to the public next Saturday, March 5. The refuge is closed each year from late October to the first Saturday in March to provide undisturbed habitat for migrating and wintering waterfowl, the primary purpose for its construction many years ago.
