MARCELINE — With facing teams from two historically-strong, if smaller-school, mat programs one obstacle and four vacancies in their lineup another, the Chillicothe High School wrestling Hornets’ chances of salvaging the split they needed at a minimum to preserve their chances of having a break-even season in dual-match competition likely were slim or none this past Tuesday.

CAMERON — After the Maryville Lady Spoofhounds connected on a pair of 3-points shots while ringing up the first 10 points of last Saturday’s championship game of the Cameron Invitational Tournament, the top-seeded Chillicothe High School basketball Lady Hornets and their fans awaited the portion of the game when their own shots – particularly from longrange – would start falling with familiar consistency.
MACON — After another double-dual split Thursday night, Chillicothe High School’s 2021-22 wrestling Hornets face a challenge in the remaining weekplus of their regular season. Last Thursday’s 43- 30 triumph over host Macon and 45-35 loss to North Callaway left the boys’ team’s dual-matches record at 13-15 with three duals remaining.
