JOSEPH — Seemingly defying logic, despite splitting their mere six bouts of competition, Chillicothe High School’s wrestling Lady Hornets emerged with three individual champions and second place as a team from last Saturday’s Midland Empire Conference Championships at south St. Joseph’s Benton High School.

Basketball Lady Hornets Fend Off Kelsey-led EBHS by 17

GOWER — Avoiding extended scoring droughts or floorshooting slumps that have been occasional problems this season – most recently in the loss at Kansas City: St. Pius X two nights before, Chillicothe High School’s basketball Lady Hornets handily bounced back into winning form Thursday night, pulling away from Gracie Kelsey-powered East Buchanan 54-37 to improve to 14-2 on the season.

CHS Boys Fall Short 46-34 in Tourney Title Bid

LAWSON — Despite their typical stalwart defensive performance and a remarkable 15-rebounds effort by young center James Mathew, the Chillicothe High School basketball Hornets had their chance to spring an upset of top seed – and recent-seasons nemesis – Richmond in the championship game of the Lawson Invitational Tournament bounce away from them like so many of their shots Friday, Jan. 14.
