Several C-T-area high school basketball teams commenced 2024-25 play last Friday and another chimed in Monday before the bulk of the rest joined in on Tuesday. Due to a lack of space, Tuesday’s contests will be recapped in next week’s print edition.

Record-setting Chillicothe High School football senior Silas Midgyett has been chosen to receive the annual $1,000 Shawn Trager Memorial Scholarship for 2024. His selection was announced by a representative of the scholarship’s selection committee at the team’s annual postseason recognition event at the school Nov. 21.
