In milder-than-normal conditions, but with some pesky precipitation as a complication for some – particularly softball, preseason practices for 2024 Chillicothe High School fall sports programs swung into action this week, with – for most – solid participation numbers, compared to the past decade or so.Shuffled back on the clock by an unusual conflict with teachers’ required professional development activities during the early part of the week, CHS athletes choosing to compete in football, softball, volleyball, girls’ tennis or golf, boys’ soccer or cross-country running gathered for their initial practices either Monday mid-afternoon or evening.They are pointed toward starts of full-fledged competition on dates ranging from Aug.
