Reeter, CHS Basketball Girls Bury Hamilton in Opener

While it figured to be a moot point, an inevitability, Chillicothe High School senior guard Jessica Reeter nearly produced a 2-for-1 record-breaking performance Tuesday night in CHS’ as-anticipated, season-starting 73-18 crushing of host Hamilton. Entering the season and game nine 3-pointers shy of former teammate Jordan Hibner’s team record of 186 career treys, Reeter drained an unguarded, pull-up “3” on the first possession of the 202223 season and hit four in the opening quarter on her way to seven on the night.

New Hoops Hornets Season Could Have High Ceiling

With all but one player back from, record-wise, the third-most-successful season of head coach Tim Cool’s 11-years tenure, the 2022-23 Chillicothe High School basketball Hornets begin their season next week with high expectations from their fans. Lastyear’sdepth-challenged squad finished 18-9 overall and came within a last-seconds shot by Maryville in the regular-season finale from being tri-champion of the Midland Empire Conference, even though it played most of the season with a 6or 7-players lineup rotation in which one of the top reserves was its only senior, who had not been out for the sport since his freshman year, and a sophomore with no prior varsity exposure.

Braymer Sweeps Eastern Neighbor Southwest to Start 2022-23 Hoops

Following Meadville’s lead the Saturday before, multiple C-T-area high school basketball teams tipped off their new seasons early this past week. Southwest Livingston, Braymer, Hale/Bosworth, Breckenridge, Hamilton: Penney, Polo, Mendon: Northwestern, Brunswick, Hardin-Central and Higbee teams all commenced 2022-23 game play, but, due to tragic circumstances, Linn County R-1 did not.
