MEXICO — Coming in on a surge, but still likely needing to win to have a realistic shot at salvaging a winning or break-even record for the 2022 season, Chillicothe High School’s soccer Hornets were shut out 6-0 at Mexico last Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. The Hornets (7-10-1) have one regular-season match remaining – today at 5 p.m. at Savannah – before facing that very same foe to start the Class 2 District 8 Tournament at Excelsior Springs High’s Tiger Stadium this Saturday at 11 a.m. CHS, which defeated Savannah 3-1 at home recently, is the No. 4 seed and Savannah No. 5. The survivor will take on the top-seeded host Tigers next Monday.
