Football Hornets Post 42-0 Homecoming Win

Chillicothe High School’s 2022 Homecoming celebration successfully unfurled as planned last weekend from the parade opener in resplendent weather to, after extensive rain during Saturday’s morning and early-afternoon hours, a return of fair weather for that evening’s dance and formal royalty coronation ceremonies. In between, the football game against recent “cousin” Cameron developed as hoped and expected, albeit only after an opening, fleeting “hiccup.” A young, relatively-inexperienced Cameron Dragons squad proved unintentionally cooperative in the Hornets’ registering a comfortable, no-stress 42-0 triumph at Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium II that squared Chillicothe’s records this fall at 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Midland Empire Conference play.

Mizzou Defeats Abilene Christian in SEC Play Warmup

COLUMBIA — The University of Missouri Tigers made it a clear priority to get wide receiver Luther Burden III more involved in the team’s final tuneup before entering Southeastern Conference football play, and the move paid immediate dividends in last Saturday’s 3417 victory over Abilene Christian. After the Tigers’ defense forced a threeand-out on the Wildcats’ opening drive of the game, Burden received the ensuing punt on a bounce along the left sideline at his own 22yard line, then followed his blockers across the field before racing down the right stripe for a 78yard score.
