Win Over Trenton Boosts CHS Tennis’ District Prospects

Already having lost closely to one of the other three teams against whom they’ll compete in the Class 1 District 15 tournament next month, the Chillicothe High School tennis Lady Hornets needed a solid, strong recovery from the previous day’s shutout loss to Midland Empire Conference foe Kansas City: St. Pius X when they took on the visiting Trenton Lady Bulldogs Tuesday at the Daryl Danner Memorial Park courts.

Softball Lady Hornets Take Win in 15th

CHS ROUNDUP: Palmer’s walk-off hit ends 3-hours game Tuesday as Boley sets game K record Highlighted by a multiple- records, if very slim, win, Chillicothe High School’s fall sports teams in softball, volleyball, golf, and boys’ soccer generally had the better of it in early- and mid-week action this past week. Unexpectedly severely tested by a Cameron club which had lost two of its three previous Midland Empire Conference games, the softball Lady Hornets needed 3-straight hits by non-seniors and a game-record strikeouts performance from senior All-State hurler Kinlei Boley to turn back the Lady Dragons 4-3 in 15 innings Tuesday.

No Title for Softball Lady Hornets in Own Tourney Despite 3-0 Mark

COM Even though it wasn’t quite as potent as in last year’s smashing title run in their own annual tournament, the Chillicothe High School softball Lady Hornets’ offense was more than good enough to power three comfortable victories without a loss last Saturday, even if there technically wasn’t a championship trophy to grasp to signify the performance.
