Chillicothe’s Hibner Academic All-American at NCMC

Jordan Hibner, a 2020 Chillicothe High School graduate and former Lady Hornets basketball and softball standout, received both a team award and national academic recognition for her on-thecourt and classroom performances at North Central Missouri College in Trenton during the 2021-22 school year. Her Lady Pirates teammates voter her to be the recipient of the “Pirate Award” for her selflessness and dedication to team success. Then, late last month, the National Junior College Athletics Association announced Hibner was one of 13 NCMC athletes to have qualified not only NJCAA Academic All-America status for the 2021-22 school year, requiring at least a 3.60 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), but earned first-team Academic All-America status by having a 4.0 GPA. “I am extremely proud of our student-athletes that were able to earn this recognition,” remarked NCMC’s Athletic Director Nate Gamet, according to a news release from Ryan Suttenfield, NCMC sports information director “Thisshows the importance and value that they have placed on their academic success. I am also proud of our coaches and North Central Missouri College employees that play an intricate part in our student athlete’s success both on the field of competition and in the classroom,” Gamet added.
