NEW YORK (AP) — In a city of stars, the Angels’ Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw will be in the spotlight July 19 at Dodger Stadium. “I think it’s been a couple of years since I got to compete in an All-Star Game, and something about Dodger Stadium, too, is special,” Kershaw said after pitchers and reserves were announced Sunday.

As MINK League college-level, wood-bat baseball heads into its final 2-1/2 weeks of regular-season play, a hyper-busy Chillicothe Mudcats schedule will present them with a self-controlled opportunity to chase down the third and final qualifying berth for the league’s North Division and league playoffs.

KANSAS CITY.— Kansas City Royals left fielder Andrew Benintendi has been named to his first All-Star Game as a reserve, Major League Baseball announced Sunday. Barring subsequent replacements required by circumstances developing this week, Benintendi will be the Royals’ only representative at the 92nd All-Star Game, to be played next Tuesday at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
