Celebrate the Holidays with the Lillian DesMarias Youth Library’s 12 Days of Christmas

The Lillian DesMarias Youth Library is excited to present its ‘12 Days of Christmas’ event, a festive celebration filled with fun activities for all ages. Running from Dec. 2-17, this event offers a variety of crafts, treats, and holiday cheer, perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit.

Here’s a look at the schedule full of reading, holiday food treats, and crafting activities:

Day 1: Monday, Dec. 2

Hot Cocoa and Cookies

Time: 3-4:30 p.m.

Kick off the festivities with warm cocoa and delicious cookies. Relax and enjoy the cozy atmosphere with family and friends.

Day 2: Tuesday, Dec. 3

Storytime with Mrs. Claus

Time: 10 a.m.

Little ones will love this magical morning story session with Mrs. Claus herself, perfect for sparking holiday wonder.

Day 3: Wednesday, Dec. 4

Cookie Decorating (Ages 3–8)

Time: 4 p.m.

Young bakers can unleash their creativity while decorating festive cookies to take home or eat on the spot.

Day 4: Thursday, Dec. 5

Teen Ornament Making (Ages 12–18)

Time: 5:30 p.m.

Teens can craft unique ornaments to decorate their trees or give as gifts.

Day 5: Friday, Dec. 6

Holiday Snack Mix

An all day event for visitors to drop by to mix and match festive ingredients to create a custom holiday snack.

Day 6: Monday, Dec. 9

Gingerbread Houses (Ages 9–18)

Time: 3:30 p.m.

Registration is required for this event. This allows kids to build and decorate gingerbread houses in this sweet and creative workshop.

Day 7: Tuesday, Dec. 10

Teen Take and Make Craft (Ages 12–18)

An all day event where teens can grab a holiday-themed craft kit to work on at their own pace.

Day 8: Wednesday, Dec. 11

Mother’s Gift Making

Time: 9-11 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.

Create heartfelt handmade gifts for moms, perfect for the giving season.

Day 9: Thursday, Dec. 12

Snowy Toddler Stay and Play

Time: 9-10:30 a.m.

Toddlers can enjoy sensory play and fun winter-themed activities.

Day 10: Friday, Dec. 13

Father’s Gift Making

Time: 9-11 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.

Kids can create special gifts for their dads, just in time for Christmas.

Day 11: Monday, Dec. 16

Christmas Build Night (Ages 5–11)

Time: 5:30 p.m.

Budding builders will enjoy creating festive structures and decorations.

Day 12: Tuesday, Dec. 17

Santa Visit

Time: 6-7 p.m.

End the 12 Days of Christmas with a visit from Santa Claus who will be on hand to hear the list of Christmas lists from good boys and girls. Guests are invited to bring cameras to snap photos with the guest of honor.
