Chillicothe Farmers Win First Place Award in 2024 National Corn Yield Contest

ST. LOUIS — Chillicothe farmers Jeffery and Jennifer Allred earned a State First Place award in the 2024 National Corn Growers Association National Corn Yield Contest with a yield of 357 bushels per acre. The Allreds won with DEKALB® DKC66-06RIB Brand Blend in Class B: Conventional Non-Irrigated Class and are among the top corn yield producers in the nation.

“We congratulate Jeffery and Jennifer on this outstanding achievement, which reflects a season of hard work and crop management skills,” said Jamie Horton, DEKALB brand manager. “We also appreciate these farmers for trusting DEKALB brand to help them attain their wins.”

According to a press release, farmers who planted DEKALB corn captured the most national awards (15 of 27) as well as 230 state-level awards, including 105 first-place yields. Of all DEKALB winners, 121 achieved yields of 300 or more bushels per acre.
