Also newly-enshrined in the state hall was Jill Nagel (sixth from left), sister-in-law of Chillicothe High School Principal and former Athletics Director Dan Nagel (far left) and wife Angela, and the medical/healthcare practice with which Mr. Nagel’s older brother Greg (fourth from left) is currently associated – the Columbia Orthopaedic Group. Under Jill Nagel’s guidance, Columbia: Rock Bridge High School basketball Lady Bruins have won multiple state basketball championship and have been subjectively ranked among the best high school teams in the nation. Greg, a long-time athletics trainer in Columbia who joined COG in recent years, currently partners on knee, shoulder, and other large-joint cases with COG surgeon Dr. Tameem Yehyawi. The Columbia Orthopaedic Group, which for more than five decades has provided surgical and rehabilitative services to not only the University of Missouri-Columbia athletics programs, but also to thousands of individuals young and old across the state, including more than a few from Chillicothe, was the recipient of the Hall’s John Q. Hammons Founder’s Award for service to sports in the state.
