Chillicothe Launches Fundraiser to Restore Beloved Graham’s Mill Mural

CHILLICOTHE – A cherished piece of Chillicothe’s identity is on its way back—brighter and stronger than ever. Main Street Chillicothe has announced a new fundraising campaign to reinstall the Graham’s Mill & Bridge mural, a vibrant landmark that once colored the walls of 504 Washington Street. After a critical but costly structural repair to the exterior wall, the time has come to bring art back to the heart of downtown.

The new mural will celebrate Chillicothe’s rich history while breathing fresh energy into its evolving public art scene. Much more than decoration, murals like Graham’s Mill serve as storytelling canvases—driving tourism, supporting local businesses, and creating lasting community pride.

Main Street Chillicothe and the Livingston County Community Development Corporation are aiming to raise $36,500 for the project through their “Paint It Forward” campaign. As of now, over $11,000 has already been raised, and the effort continues to gain momentum.

“This isn’t just about paint and bricks—it’s about connection,” organizers shared. “Public art reminds us where we’ve been, inspires where we’re going, and invites everyone to be part of the story.”
