As previously reported, these seven members of Chillicothe High School’s Class 3 state runnerup softball team earned inclusion on the all-Midland Empire Conference team chosen through MEC coaches’ voting. They include (from left): Front – sophomore Tori Stoner, seniors Hope Helton, Kirsten Dunn, Kinlei Boley, and Bre Pithan, and juniors Jolie Bonderer, Adra Stretch. Additionally, Dunn, Helton, Boley and Bonderer were Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association Class 3 first-team all-district with Pithan and Stoner second-team, with Boley, Helton, and Dunn being MHSFCA all-region first-team and Bonderer second- team. Catcher Helton, pitcher Boley, and shortstop Dunn then were named first-team All-State, as reported last week, before – in a new disclosure at last week’s postseason recognition event, repeat MEC coach of the year Lee Rucker announced Boley, recently signed to play collegiately at Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., also has been chosen for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s 4-state (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas) Region I second team as a pitcher for a second-straight year.
