Her team having immediately slipped into a 3-0 deficit in the opening half-inning of last Saturday’s 2022 Class 3 high school softball state-tournament championship game, senior catcher Hope Helton of the Chillicothe Lady Hornets gets a major CHS response cranked up with this swing that produced a slicing, wind-blown triple over the head of the Westphalia: Fatima right fielder in the bottom of the first inning. The blow scored the first CHS run of the game and the Lady Hornets went on to not just tie the game at 3-3 after one inning, but storm to a 13-4 lead after two.
