Tent Revival Held Four Days a Week
A tent revival is underway in Chillicothe, inviting everyone to gather for evenings of worship and encouragement. The East Gate Tent Revival is held south of Hy-Vee at 1210 Washington Street, right off Highway 65.
Services will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 6:30 p.m., continuing weekly until further notice. Organizers say the revival is open to all, with a focus on faith and community.

Adult Blood Draw to be Held July 30
The Livingston County Health Center is reminding area residents to schedule their spot for the upcoming Adult Blood Draw Clinic, set for Wed., July 30. The clinic will be open from 7-10 a.m. and appointments are required. Those interested in participating are encouraged to call 660-646-5506 to secure their time slot.
Linneus Prepares for Garage Sales
The Linneus community is gearing up for its annual City-Wide Garage Sales, set to take place on Saturday, Aug. 2. Residents are invited to spend the day exploring a wide variety of sales throughout town, with each location offering its own unique selection of goods. Shoppers can expect to find everything from clothing, toys, and home décor to tools, hunting and fishing gear, and much more—ensuring something for every member of the family.
Several addresses are already on the list, including stops on Elm Street, High Street, Main Street, Jackson Street, Buchanan Street, Fillmore Street, and Memorial Drive. Organizers also encourage any residents who are not yet included on the list to add their address by commenting on the event post.
Chillicothe Chaos Softball Team Hosting 14U Tryouts Aug. 5 at Simpson Park
Young athletes looking to take their game to the next level will have their chance this August as the Chilli Chaos 14U Softball Team hosts tryouts for the upcoming season. The open tryout will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Simpson Park Ballfield, located at 1503 Walnut Street in Chillicothe, Missouri.
The Chaos program, known for its competitive spirit and player development focus, is inviting girls age 14 and under to showcase their skills in hopes of earning a spot on the roster. Players are encouraged to come ready to give it their all—glove, cleats, and hustle required.
Those interested in trying out need to pre-register. For families unable to make the open session, private tryouts are available by appointment.

Volunteers Wanted to Prep “Out of the Darkness” Walk for Suicide Prevention
Area residents are invited to take part in the “Out of the Darkness” Walk for suicide prevention on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2025. The event will be held at Grand River Technical School in Chillicothe, Missouri, with the site opening at noon.
Organized in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the walk aims to raise awareness, honor those lost to suicide, and offer hope and connection to anyone affected by mental health struggles.
Local organizers are currently seeking support from the community to help make the event meaningful and visible. Volunteers are encouraged to assist with placing yard signs, distributing flyers, or suggesting public locations for informational materials and awareness coasters.

Farmers’ Electric Coop to Host 87th Annual Meeting
Farmers’ Electric Cooperative is gearing up for its 87th Annual Meeting, and members are encouraged to mark their calendars. The event will take place on Sept. 23, 2025, at the Chillicothe Warehouse, located at 201 W. Business 36.
Members can take advantage of the drive-thru gift line from 4- 6:15 p.m. to register, cast votes, and receive a goodie bucket along with a bill credit. All are invited to stay to attend the Business Meeting which will begin at 6:30 p.m.
