Faith & Family Bowling Nights Return to Fast Lane
Fall bowling season is officially underway, and Fast Lane Family Entertainment Center in Chillicothe is inviting families and friends to gather every Tuesday evening for its popular Faith & Family Night.
The weekly event runs from 3-8 p.m., offering affordable fun for all ages. Bowlers can enjoy games and shoes for just $3 each, or take advantage of the Family Special—$20 for up to five bowlers per lane, with shoes included. Adding to the experience, guests can grab the Pizza and Soda Combo Special to keep the energy going between frames.

GAP Home Seeking Volunteers
Grace and Purpose Home is reaching out to community members with a special request for skilled volunteers to help sustain its ministry and support women in recovery. The GAP House is seeking individuals willing to teach a craft, skill, or trade that can be developed into a micro-enterprise to raise funds during events.
Organizers say that skills such as baking, candle-making, sewing, jewelry design, woodworking, or other unique talents could be transformed into meaningful projects that benefit the women served by the recovery home. By sharing their expertise, volunteers will help create products that are both beautiful and purposeful.
Those who feel led to share their skills are encouraged to contact the GAP House at 660-214-0102. Staff believe that by working together, creativity can be turned into hope for those on the path to recovery.
Cameron Cemetery Association to Meet Sept. 6
The Cameron Cemetery Association of Livingston County Missouri will have its fall meeting Saturday, September 6, at the Hale City Hall at 9 a.m. All interested parties are invited to attend.
Chair Yoga Classes Offered in Chillicothe Through September
Local residents have the opportunity to take part in free Chair Yoga classes twice a week, thanks to a partnership between the Livingston County Health Center and the Grand River Multipurpose Center.
The classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 2- 3 p.m. through Sept. 30. Sessions take place at First Baptist Church, 1601 Bryan Street, and are also made available via Zoom for those who prefer to participate from home.
Chair Yoga provides a gentle form of exercise designed to improve flexibility, strength, and balance while being accessible to all fitness levels. The program is especially beneficial for older adults or those with limited mobility who want to stay active in a safe and supportive environment.
The initiative is part of the Young at Heart program, which focuses on healthy aging resources for the community.

Democratic Club to Host Next Meeting on Sept. 9
The monthly meetings of the Livingston County Democratic Club will host a business meeting at the Livingston County Library, 2nd floor from 5 – 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 9. A committee meeting will be held Sept. 30.
Friends of the Library Hosting Bunco Night Fundraiser
The Friends of the Livingston County Library are gearing up for an evening of fun, food, and fundraising with their upcoming Bunco Game Night. The event will take place Thurs., Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Main Library.
For just $20 per person, participants can enjoy a night filled with dice-rolling excitement, a meal, and the chance to win prizes. Awards will be given out for the night’s winner, the player with the most Buncos, and even the “biggest loser,” ensuring plenty of friendly competition.
The fundraiser supports the Livingston County Library, with all proceeds going directly back into library programs and services. Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and their best dice-playing energy.
No prior experience is required to join in on the fun. Volunteers will be on hand to teach new players the rules of Bunco, making the event accessible for everyone.

Braymer Youth Benefit Fish Fry Planned at PC’s Elkhorn Steakhouse
A community favorite is returning with a purpose. On Sun., Sept.14, PC’s Elkhorn Steakhouse in Chillicothe will host a Benefit Fish Fry from noon to 2 p.m., with proceeds supporting the Braymer Youth Center.
For $15 per person, guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat spread featuring fried catfish, fried shrimp, baked beans, coleslaw, hush puppies, fried chips, and a variety of desserts.
The event not only offers a hearty meal but also provides an opportunity for the community to come together in support of a cause that directly benefits local youth. Organizers encourage residents to mark their calendars, bring their appetites, and enjoy good food for a good cause.
Volunteers Wanted to Prep “Out of the Darkness” Walk for Suicide Prevention
Area residents are invited to take part in the “Out of the Darkness” Walk for suicide prevention on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2025. The event will be held at Grand River Technical School in Chillicothe, Missouri, with the site opening at noon.
Organized in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the walk aims to raise awareness, honor those lost to suicide, and offer hope and connection to anyone affected by mental health struggles.
Local organizers are currently seeking support from the community to help make the event meaningful and visible. Volunteers are encouraged to assist with placing yard signs, distributing flyers, or suggesting public locations for informational materials and awareness coasters.

Farmers’ Electric Coop to Host 87th Annual Meeting
Farmers’ Electric Cooperative is gearing up for its 87th Annual Meeting, and members are encouraged to mark their calendars. The event will take place on Sept. 23, 2025, at the Chillicothe Warehouse, located at 201 W. Business 36.
Members can take advantage of the drive-thru gift line from 4- 6:15 p.m. to register, cast votes, and receive a goodie bucket along with a bill credit. All are invited to stay to attend the Business Meeting which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Tent Revival Held Four Days a Week
A tent revival is underway in Chillicothe, inviting everyone to gather for evenings of worship and encouragement. The East Gate Tent Revival is held south of Hy-Vee at 1210 Washington Street, right off Highway 65.
Services will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 6:30 p.m., continuing weekly until further notice. Organizers say the revival is open to all, with a focus on faith and community.

BHMS Hosts Monthly Potluck for Parish
The Bishop Hogan Memorial School community in Chillicothe is keeping tradition alive with its monthly Parish Potluck. Held every third Sunday, the gathering takes place in the school cafeteria following the 10 a.m. Mass.
Parishioners are encouraged to bring a dish to share, creating a table full of homemade favorites that reflect both family recipes and the spirit of fellowship. The event offers a chance for members of the parish to connect, enjoy good food, and spend time together beyond the church service.
