HALE – Hale’s City Park is the place to be on Saturday afternoon during the Hale Lions Club’s Independence Day Celebration. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs for an afternoon and evening of fun and fellowship while enjoying some traditional events a few new offerings as well.
Sign up begins at 2 p.m., for the corn hole tournament from 3-6 p.m. There will be a cash prize for first place.
The always popular and cute Kids Pedal Pull will begin at 4 p.m., sign-up at 3 p.m.
New this year is a 30-foot obstacle course, will be available for all children during the event. An inflatable bounce house, slide and more will also be in the park for kids to enjoy.
There is no pre-registration required for the 5 p.m., Baby Show for children birth to three years old. Four-year-olds will compete for the title of Prince and Princess.
Be sure to have your homemade pies at the park by 4 p.m., for Pie Contest and Auction. All pies are allowed. Cash prizes will be awarded.
The Shakey Ground Band will take the perfrom from 5-9 p.m., and the crowd-wowing fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.
This year’s food court will feature hamburger, cheeseburgers, tenderloins, quarter-pound hot dogs, fish basket, pulled pork, french fries. homemade ice cream, homemade cake, soda and water.
The raffle features numerous prizes, including cash.
