As the holiday season approaches, Chillicothe has announced adjustments to the trash collection schedule to accommodate Christmas and New Year’s Day celebrations. Residents are encouraged to review these changes to ensure timely disposal of waste during this busy time of year.

Revised Trash Pickup Dates

Tuesday, Dec. 24 Route

Trash normally collected on Tuesday, Dec. 24 will be picked up a day early on Monday, Dec. 23.

Wednesday, Dec. 25 Route

Due to Christmas Day, trash collection for Wednesday, Dec. 25 will be rescheduled to a day later on Thursday, Dec. 26.

Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025 Route

For New Year’s Day, trash normally collected on Wednesday, Jan. 1 will instead be picked up on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Residents should also be reminded to put trash at the curb early in the morning on the scheduled collection day. Also, be sure all waste is securely bagged and tied to prevent litter during the holiday period.
