In a development the likes of which was seen literally hundreds of times during the 2022-23 season, Meadville High School basketball Lady Eagles freshman guard Madison Carvajal makes a steal and, with teammate Mallory Dennis (23), starts a quick transition to the offensive end of the floor, this one with MHS trailing Leeton by a point with three minutes left in their Class 1 state-tournament semifinals game at Springfield March 9. Carvajal was credited with 249 such steals during the season, third-most in state girls’ basketball history, leading the Lady Eagles to two new state marks for steals as a team.
