Tanner Sears of Higginsville pounds a sixth-inning pitch deep toward right field during the sixth inning of the second game of the Chillicothe Mudcats’ June 30 home doubleheader against the Des Moines Peak Prospects. The blow sailed over the right fielder’s head for a run-scoring double that cut Des Moines’ lead to 3-1, which led to a 3-runs rally and walkoff win in the bottom of the seventh. Sears also delivered run-scoring doubles in the first innings of the team’s Sunday and Tuesday games this past week and a RBI single last Saturday, giving him runs batted in in 4-consecutive games.
