Charles Wesley Brown, age 65, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away Monday May 9, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, with his family by his side.

Charles Wesley Brown, age 65, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away Monday May 9, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, with his family by his side. Charles was born on September 16, 1950 to Charles and Anna Frances Brown in Gallatin Missouri. Charles moved with his family to Chillicothe as a young child and lived there until the mid-80s when he moved to Des Moines. Charles worked several years at the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company in Chillicothe, and for local area farmers as a laborer. After He moved to Iowa he worked for the Des Moines Register delivering papers. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Judy Brown and Joyce Bodenhammer. He is survived by his sister Betty and her husband Ted McCollum of Brookfield, a brother David and his wife Janel of Cameron, a niece, several nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Cremation has been entrusted to Des Moines Cremation and there will be a private family and friend’s service held at a later date with interment in the Civil Bend Christian Cemetery near Pattonsburg, Mo. Memorials are suggested to the UnityPoint Health Foundation, 1415 Woodland Ave, Suite E-200, Des Moines IA 50309.
