The 60th annual Kids Day parade will be this Saturday, Sept. 17, in downtown Chillicothe. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Children of all ages up to eighth grade are invited to participate. Entrants will be judged on their costumes, and prizes will be awarded to winners in first, second and third places in one of four categories. All participants will get receive ice cream following the parade and individuals not placing in the contest will receive an honorary prize. There usually are about 60 entries in the parade. Local law enforcement vehicles will lead the parade, followed by Chillicothe Middle School’s eighth grade band. Members of the Chillicothe High School Key Club will carry the Kiwanis Kids Day Parade banner. Participants may enter in one of four categories: individual girl, individual boy, small group (2-3 members per group), or large group (four or more people).
