1:54 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a commercial business alarm in the 1000 block of South

Washington Street. Officers determined that the alarm was accidentally tripped by delivery truck driver.

1:57 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a resident making threats of self-harm in the 1000 block of Frederick. Officers transported the resident to Hedrick Medical Center (HMC) for treatment and evaluation.

9:07 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a theft in the 600 block of Business Hwy 36.

9:17 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of E. Bridge Street. The incident was found to be verbal and no arrests were made.

9:27 a.m., Officers assisted with a vehicle slide off due to icy road conditions at Litton and Mohawk Roads.

1:08 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of three dogs running at large in Simpson Park. Animal Control was also dispatched.

2:31 p.m., Officers were dispatched to check the well-being of a resident in the 1800 block of Bordon Street. The resident was contacted and was not in need of any assistance.

6:25 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a theft and forgery from a business in the 1000 block of North Washington Street. The incident remains under investigation.

9:03 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a complaint of barking dogs disturbing the peace in the 500 block of Peacher Street. The owner was contacted and the dogs were taken inside the residence.

9:08 p.m., Officers were dispatched to check the well-being of a resident in the area of Eleventh and Elmdale Rd. The resident was contacted and was not in need of any assistance.

11:56 p.m., A resident came to the police department to report a theft from his residence. The incident was determined to be a civil issue.

On Jan. 25, the Chillicothe Police Department received 53 calls for service.

6:00 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a commercial business burglary alarm in the 400 block of Mitchell Avenue The alarm was accidentally activated by an employee.

12:37 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a minor car accident on private property in the 300 block of Mitchell Ave. It was determined by the persons involved that they did not need a report.

2:51 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Gale Street. The incident was determined to be verbal and no arrests were made.

3:09 p.m., Kristopher Grasshorn surrendered himself at the police department on a Livingston County Warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. Grasshorn was processed and released with a court date after posting the required bond.

4:08 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Polk Street after the resident heard a noise inside the residence and thought there was an intruder. Officers searched the residence and no one was located.

9:45 p.m., Officers assisted a Livingston County Deputy on an arrest warrant in the 400 block of South Washington Street.

On Jan. 26, the Chillicothe Police Department received 50 calls for service.

12:26 am, Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Walnut Street. The incident was found to be verbal and no arrests were made.

9:31 a.m., Officers were dispatched to check the well-being of an elderly male walking in the 400 block of Webster Street. Officers were unable to locate the male.

9:48 a.m., Officers were contacted by Sedalia Police Department in reference to attempting to locate a local resident to check the well-being. The resident was located and found to be not in need of any assistance.

2:25 p.m., Officers spoke with an individual on the phone in reference to a child custody dispute.

3:08 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a loud music complaint in the 1300 block of Green Street.

4:53 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a parking complaint in the 1200 block of Jamison Street.

6:01 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1000 block of Graves Street in reference to shoplifters. Officers arrested Todd and Shannon Buss for stealing. Both were transported to the police department where they were processed and transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail on a 24 hour hold for felony stealing.

11:02 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a commercial burglary alarm in the 600 block of Calhoun Street. Officers discovered a door had been forced open and someone had entered the business. Officers searched the building and discovered that the suspect had fled prior to officer’s arrival. The owner of the business arrived on the scene and secured the building. The owner is in process of conducting an inventory to determined what items had been stolen. Officers also searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

On Jan. 27, the Chillicothe Police Department received 53 calls for service.

4:25 a.m., An officer assisted two motorists due to icy conditions.

5:23 a.m., An officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Polk and Woodward Streets.

7:14 a.m., Officers responded to a parking complaint in the 1200 block of Webster Street.

7:27 a.m., An officer responded to a report of a cow out near the old Sale Barn. The owner said the fence was fixed and all cows are accounted for.

7:49 a.m., Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the parking lot of a local banking facility.

8:03 a.m., An officer removed debris from the roadway near the viaduct.

10:27 a.m., An officer spoke with a subject in reference to a custody dispute.

10:38 a.m., An officer spoke with a subject who was complaining that a custody agreement is not being followed.

10:55 a.m., An officer responded to a report of stealing from 1000 block of Graves Street.

11:48 a.m., An officer responded to a traffic complaint of vehicle stuck near Polk and Washington Streets

1:13 p.m., An officer responded to a theft report in the 1500 block of Bryan Street.

1:41 p.m., An officer responded to a report of a vehicle being driven the wrong direction on one-way street.

2:05 p.m., Officers spoke with a subject in police department wanting to report an assault in another jurisdiction. The subject was advised to contact an agency with jurisdiction.

2:41 p.m., An officer removed an item from the roadway in 1500 block of Fair Street.

2:42 p.m., A subject surrendered himself on a Livingston County warrant and was then transferred to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.

3:06 p.m., An officer responded to a parking complaint in 900 block of Dickinson Street.

3:29 p.m., An officer responded to suspicious activity at business in 1200 block of Washington Street. The suspicious activity was noted and recorded.

5:12 p.m., An officer responded to a complaint of a dog not being taken care of in the 1900 block of Clay Street. The officer noted that the dog appears to be okay.

6:36 p.m., A subject surrendered himself to the police department on a Livingston County warrant and was then transferred to Daviess/ DeKalb County Regional Jail due to not being able to post bond.

8:43 p.m., An officer responded to a complaint of a dog outside all day in the area of Orchard Street.

9:28 p.m., An officer picked up some property that had been left by a customer in the 1000 block of Graves Street.

10:11 p.m., An officer performed a check well-being of subject in 300 block of Clay Street. The subject was found to be okay.

On Jan. 28, the Chillicothe Police Department received 122 calls for service.
