According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, at about 6:10 a.m., on Jan. 30, Larry Raymo, 77, Jamesport was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty north in Daviess County near 320th Street, five miles south of Jamesport, when he lost control of the vehicle due to an ice covered roadway. The vehicle traveled off of the west side of the road and struck a tree.

According to the accident report, Raymo’s 11-year-old passenger, Ivan Miller, Jamesport, received serious injuries and was flown to Children’s Mercy. Miller was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and Raymo, who received minor injuries and was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital for treatment, was not wearing a seatbelt.
